NW6 install hangs after restart
The error was shocking at first, but as I became aware of the symptoms, I realized that, other than the BSOD crash on boot, there was little consequence and I chose to put the Windows is still running, just the install stops. I tried skipping the tools, but still hangs just after the tools. Any ideas? Thanks, RonR.

Mike, I'm afraid I have another problem... this time, I'm trying to install SP3 I am prompted for the sa password, then get an error message "setup failed to read registry key .... For our first scenario if you just let setup fail and reboot then retry setup (perhaps clearing out pending reboot files) does it work?

The installation hangs at various points and no matter how long I wait it never completes. When I check Task Manager there is NO activity. I end up having to End Task on the installation and reboot. Just like others have reported, I kept hanging up during the setup of the RunTime or during the Framework install.

All I have to do is start the setup program (or the autorun). The first symptom is that when I move the mouse pointer to the setup window it turns to an hourglass and nothing else happens. I left it like that for three hours with no change. Eventually, as I said, the system hangs completely and I must reboot.

I reboot, and the Running Win95 for the First Time screen comes up, stays for a few minutes, then the output of autoexec.bat is displayed on a DOS-ish screen. Why not rename your autoexec.bat
